  1. Brothers and sisters and half brothers’, stepsisters and alike, can also be included in this category, as long as they are qualified as dependent children.

The policies and requirements and application procedures here can be complicated. Contact our consultants to receive assessment and guidance before you make a decision.

Adopted child

Brother, sister, aunt or uncle can also be sponsored to come to Canada in very specific situation.

Orphaned brother, sister, nephew, niece or grandchild can be sponsored if they are under 18, single, related to the sponsor by blood or adoption, both parents passed away.

Other relatives can also be sponsored to immigrate to Canada if you don’t have any other living relatives outside of Canada, and you don’t have any relatives that had citizenship or PR in Canada.

Other relatives

Applying PR for adopted child from another country is a very complicated procedure. The adoption process, in most cases, are completed in the home country of that child, and must be fully documented and approved by the home country government. Also, the legal relationship between that child and biological parents must be ended legally. Destination provinces also have requirements regarding this adoption. And at last, but not least, this adoption must be in the best interests of the child, and the reason of adoption can not be facilitating the child’s immigration.

The detailed procedure, requirements, and restrictions for the application for adoption, and the application for the child’s immigration may be obtained from the government website, or you can discuss the plan to adopt child from a foreign country with our consultant, before you start the process.
